HISTORY
SENAI was created to meet a need: to train workers for Brazilian industry. Here we train productive, critical and reflective citizens who are capable of improving their quality of life and contributing to the betterment of our society. When it was founded on April 16, 1943, the Pernambuco Regional Department comprised the 2nd Region, made up of the states of Pernambuco, Paraíba and Alagoas, as well as the Territory of Fernando de Noronha. Initially, SENAI Pernambuco used the facilities of the Recife Technical School (now IFPE) to structure and implement its courses. The first courses taught by SENAI-PE were those for locksmiths, mechanical turners, molders, welders and the Mechanical Drawing Reading course, with a total of 128 graduates. The first SENAI schools began operating in 1944, located in Cabanga, Palmares and Areias. During this period, SENAI made a commitment to training workers, as evidenced by the more than 1.5 million professionals who have qualified for the job market. This is how SENAI invites you to join its history with ours. After all, it is the relationship with the history of each Pernambuco resident that encourages us to grow more and more.
